Gad Perry

I graduated in 1995 with a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin. My M.Sc. and B.Sc. are both from Tel Aviv University, Israel, where I also worked as Curator of Herpetology. I was a lecturer in the Department of Zoology at UT Austin during 1995. I had a postdoctoral position in the Department of Zoology at Ohio State University, and my research centers on the brown tree snake and its ecological impact on Guam. Currently, I am on a postdoctoral with Ted Garland at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

My Ph.D. dissertation centered on the evolution of foraging behavior. Over all, my interests span a wide range of ecological sub-disciplines such as historical and evolutionary ecology, and physiological ecology. Most of my research centers on reptiles, and my emphasis is on fieldwork (most recently including Guam, the British Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, Israel, and the US) rather than on laboratory or theoretical approaches. I am also strongly interested in conservation issues.
