     
Born in Canada and fluent in Portugese, Alison Gainsbury has spent many years living in Brazil.
She has participated in several field expeditions across Brazil running pit traps in the Brazilian
Cerrado, one of her favorite activities. Shown here in the field holding one of her favorites,
Enyalius sp. Alison earned her Master's degree from the Universidade de Brasilia in 2002.
She extended this work at the University of Texas where she was awarded her Ph. D. in 2012.
