2006-2007 Officers
Adrienne Witzel, President

I am a Senior completing a double major in Anthropology
and Religious Studies. My focus is primarily in the
subdiscipline of Physical Anthropology. I have worked
on several archaeological sites including the Gault
Project and the mapping of a historic cemetery in
Bastrop County. I spent the Summers of 2003 and 2004
traveling abroad. I am a four-year member of the
Texas Archeological Society, and a current contributor
to the eSkeletons Project. Upon graduation from UT
in May 2007, I will complete a senior honors thesis
which will include an analysis of the dentition in a
prehistoric Native American population. I plan to
pursue a graduate degree in Paleoanthropolgy in the

I am a third-year undergraduate student, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in
Anthropology, focus in Folklore, and a Bachelor of Arts in Czech Language and
Culture. Upon my graduation in 2008, I intend to pursue graduate
studies in the area of Folklore and Folklife, especially with regard
to the Czech lands and Slovakia.

I am a Senior Cultural Anthropology student with a focus on modern race and
gender relations and a minor in English. I participated in paleontological
field work under Chris Kirk during January of 2006 and I studied Language and
Culture in Cordoba Argentina during the summer of 2006. Upon graduation in May
of 2007, I intend to work and save towards traveling and pursuing
anthropological graduate studies abroad.

I am a Senior Cultural Anthropology major with a concentration in
feminist and
queer theory. I studied language and culture in France summer of 2005
and am
currently participating in ethnographic research and the writing of a
thesis on
the role of performance in the denaturalization of gender. After
graduating May
of 2007, I plan to take a year for “real world experience” (ie.
academically
relevant job/internship) before entering into graduate studies for
Cultural
Anthropology.

I am a fifth-year Senior in Anthropology with a focus in
Archaeological Studies and Geography. I have worked on two Texas
archaeological sites: the Stallings Ranch (41LR297) in Paris and the
McNeil-Gonzales Ranch (41VT141) in Victoria. Currently I am
researching and writing a senior honors thesis on the burial inclusions of the Crestmont site (41WH39), a
prehistoric Texas inland coastal cemetery. After graduating in May
2007, I hope to pursue a career in CRM before continuing research on
Texas Archaeology in graduate school. (Personal Website)

I am a Senior currently pursuing degrees in Biology, Anthropology and
Archaeology. After graduation, I plan to pursue a PHD in pathology or
medical
anthropology. Eventually, I would like to work as a paleopathologist
and create
models of disease transmission in ancient civilizations. My research
interests
include evolution of disease as well as variable cultural responses to
mechanisms of disease transmission. During the summer of 2006, I
participated
in UT's archaeological field school at the McNeil-Gonzales Ranch
(41VT141) in
Victoria County, TX. I am currently a member of the Bioarchaeology and
Forensic
Anthropology Association as well as the Texas Archeological Society.
