The Latin Placement Service in the Classics Department at the University of Texas at Austin posts Latin teaching positions in public and private schools all over Texas and in nearby states. We also notify Latin teachers on our list who may be seeking employment.

more than two dozen Latin teaching positions at private, college-prep schools around the South

Southern Teachers Agency presently has listings for more than two dozen Latin teaching positions at private, college-prep schools around the South.

These jobs include middle-school and upper-school positions, some involving AP Latin.

Successful candidates will be expected to participate in the full life of the school by coaching athletic teams or supervising extracurricular activities.

Location: A variety of Southern states, including Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida

Work Begins: August 2006

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Latin or Classics. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong academic record. Teacher certification not required.

Application process: Interested candidates should apply to Southern Teachers Agency. The process consists of completing an STA application (available online), sending a credentials file, and having a telephone interview.
