Secondary Schools
On average,
secondary schools in the Accelerated
Schools Process showed greater improvement
on All
TAKS Tests than the State of Texas
as a whole (2003 to 2005). See

Participating Accelerated Schools on average saw 10% increase of students passing the Science TAKS scores from 2004 to 2005; whereas statewide there was a decrease of 5%.

Successes

Texas schools participating in the Comprehensive
School Reform High School Initiative,
the Accelerated Schools Project is the
most prevalent model.
Ninety-seven percent
of all schools in the Southwest Center
network met the required Annual Yearly
Progress (AYP) standard, compared to
81% statewide. (2001-2003)
Sixty percent of schools
in the Accelerated Schools Project of
five or more years were rated by the
Texas Education Agency as exemplary.

Twenty-five percent
of third year schools rated exemplary
in comparison to the overall state rate
of 14%.
