Peter Hamilton, came to the voice program in 2003. In May 2004 he earned a B.A. in Music and a B.S. in Radio/Television/Film. In March 2005, he won the National Crescendo Music Awards held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. First prize included a full scholarship to study in Salzburg, Austria.

Brian Watson (DMA, 2005) is currently Assistant Professor of Music at Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, North Carolina.  In March 2006, he sang the role of Tonio in Masacagni’s I Pagliacci with Capital Opera Raleigh (Raleigh, North Carolina).

Desireé Wattelet (DMA) performed as a soloist in Austin Lyric Opera’s productions of Salome and Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (2006). She has several awards, took 3rd place in the Laureen Butler Vocal Competition, and is a member of the San Antonio Lyric Opera Guild. She has been a semi-finalist in several national competitions, including the 2005 Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions and the 2004 Merola Program auditions.  Her future engagements include Don Giovanni (Donna Anna) in Central City, Colorado, where she is participating as a Young Apprentice.

Scott Tomlinson, (MM, Opera Performance) took part in the 2004 and 2005 Santa Fe opera apprentice programs as a soloist. In 2004, he performed the role of the Commendatore in the production of Don Giovanni (Mozart), and was invited to debut the role of Jose Tripaldi in Ainadamar (Golijov). He is also one of the regional finalists in the 2005 Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition. He performed the role of The Priest in Austin Lyric Opera’s production of Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk (2006).  His future engagements include the roles of Sparafucile (Rigoletto) and the Commendatore (Don Giovanni) for Opera in the Heights, Houston, and the Commendatore (Don Giovanni) with the Edmonton Opera in Alberta, Canada.

Francisca Vanherle (DMA, 2003) is currently giving recitals and performing in operas in Belgium and Germany. Her roles at UT included Lucretia (Rape of Lucretia), Nero (L’Incoronazione di Poppea), and Rinaldo (Rinaldo).  She has been a frequent soloist with UT’s Early Music Ensemble.
