Spartan History

Sparta Revisted - A very noteworthy (and ambitious!) site that presents ancient Sparta without the typical negative biases.
History of Ancient Sparta @ sikyon.com - A very straightforward, informative page that covers many of the bases.
Everything Spartan, Lakonian and Messenian - Goes beyond the standard generic information and gets into some good specific topics.

General Ancient Greek History

The Perseus Project - One of the most respected Classics history sites on the Internet. This site could take weeks to fully explore.

Sparta/Greece Enthusiast

King Leonidas and the 300 Spartans of Thermopylae - A weblog maintained by a devoted fan of the Spartans and "The 300 Spartans", John Trikeriotis.
The Phalanx - A live discussion group focusing on the ancient Greek military.
Laconian Professionals - A page created by Laconian descendents about Laconia, spanning the period of ancient Sparta, through the middle ages (Byzantine era), all the way to modern times. Lots of information for prospective visitors.
The Hoplite Association - An increasingly robust and prolific Greek historical group. Their website is very informative, well-illustrated, and humorous at parts. Their status as a living history group gives them a distinct edge in creating a visually compelling webpage; they can take their own photographs!
Matthew Amt's Greek Hoplite Page - A very interesting page detailing the author's acquisition and creation of Greek arms and armour. Shows step by step how to create a hoplon by hand-a surprisingly complex process! Good set of links too.
Legion Fourteen Ancient Greece page - These are the guys that you see on the TV specials!
David Espriu's Ancient Greek Reenactor Group - Impressive! Page is originally in Spanish, so click here to access the automatically translated version.(The image links don't work properly in the translated version, so you'll have to load both versions to get the full effect.)

Miscellaneous

Behind the scenes of "Jason And The Argonauts" - A collection of moments from the creation of the TV-movie "Jason And The Argonauts" posted by one of the actors.
History of Persia: Cyrus the Great - Details the history of the Persian Empire and its founder, Cyrus the Great. Excellent for perspective on the Persians, who did much more for civilization than they are generally credited with. Contrast what you read here with what you see on The 300 Spartans!
