“For wisdom, nothing to do,
Other than know directly how things are.”
I am a graduate student in the Wireless Networking and Communications Group of the ECE department at UT Austin. I work jointly with Prof. Sanjay Shakkottai and Prof. Sujay Sanghavi.
My research interests lie at the intersection of two ubiquitous features of the modern world: networks and data. Many problems in communications, social-networks, recommender systems, data-center/cloud computing, etc., can be modeled as information-flows constrained by some underlying graph. Since these applications usually involve large networks and high-dimensional data, learning from and controlling these flows requires exploiting any structure that is present in these problems. For more details of my projects and publications, please see my research page.
The diversity of applications is mirrored by the diversity of intellectual ideas that are used in understanding these questions: probability and information theory; combinatorics and graph theory; algorithms and complexity; optimization. Exploring and applying these deep ideas is what makes my research constantly challenging, and constantly rewarding.
I currently live in Austin, doing my best to keep it weird...
