As you have driven toward the park, you've come down
off the Edwards Plateau (Cretaceous limestone) and you've been driving through steep topography developed on well-bedded Paleozoic rocks. I hope you weren't fooled by the quarry at Bear Mountain, it's nice, but it's not what you were looking for. As you come down a hill and around a turn....Enchanted Rock.
