You might have noticed that the granite in my images seems to change color a bit from image to image. In real life, at the ERSNA there isn't that much variation.
So why do my pictures show it?
Well, the pink color that much of the granite shows is particularly sensitive to changes in photographic film type and ambient light. Ektachrome, Kodachrome, and other film types have different color sensitivities. Ektachrome does well in blue, Kodachrome does well in red, and Fujichrome saturates colors almost to the point of garishness. Haze tends to make distant objects look more blue. Throw in variations in monitor type, scanner sensitivity, and some early ham-fisted attempts to fix things in Photoshop, and we've got the palette of granite shades that this site shows. I have a new digital camera and one of these day some of these pictures will be done.
