Because our milk is 100% Grade A, you see this designation on our package: "Grade A Milk."

Using only the finest products, the purity of our cheese is guaranteed throughout the production process in our USDA-inspected plant, which includes a modern quality control laboratory. From start to finish, sanitation is constantly monitored using enclosed vats and enclosed cheese tables.

Our cheese is made and fermented in batches, each batch having its own particular characteristics, much like a fine wine. Only our highest grades make it to packaging under the The Cheese Cottage label.

Not all cheese is vegetarian, but ours is! The Cheese Cottage cheese products are free of animal-derived rennet used in the coagulation process in some commercial cheeses. Such production measures qualify The Cheese Cottage cheese products to be "vegetarian" for ovo-lacto vegetarians. (Animal-derived rennet is an enzyme found in the stomach lining of calves.)

Veterinarians consulted by The Cheese Cottage have estimated 95% of dairies use some type of artificial hormones including reproduction hormones, milk let-down hormones, growth-promoting hormones, vaccine or shock reaction hormones, and steroidal anti-inflammatory hormones.
