Research in our laboratory focuses on the physiological basis of insect behavior and life history characteristics, including migration, reproduction, and diapause. Our approach is broad, encompassing endocrinology, neurobiology, and population biology. Our current work examines two economically important herbivores: the cotton boll weevil Anthonomus grandis Boheman (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) and the migratory grasshopper Melanoplus sanguinipes Fabricius (Orthoptera: Acrididae).
