Who I am
My name? Nam-Doo Kim. Sounds weird? More weird and exact pronunciation is
"NAAM-DWU KIM." From my name you may well sense that I'm not a member of American guys.
Right. Actually I'm an alien. The U.S. government officially recognized
me as such once I sneaked into the U.S. territory. I came from a planet called
Korea. More exactly, my hometown is Seoul, the capitol of South Korea.
Maybe some forks around here have heard of the differece between the north- and south-
hemisphere of the planet. So, I'm legally an alien. But I don't use any magical
trick to transform my appearance from a human being into another, as you saw from a "X-file"
or the "MIB." Trust me, I'm just a human, (maybe) like you.
What I am doing here
Let me finish my tongue-to-cheek intro. As of Sep. 2000, I'm a second year doctoral student
studying political communication and other stuffs at UT journalism. I earned my M.A.
degree in Communication from the Seoul National University in 1999, and my B.A. in the same
department from the same university. Therefore, now I'm deepening my knowledge on political
communication and other area within the field of communication. I heard I'm a member of Kappa
Tau Alpha (Don't ask me what it is. This is all I know about K.T.A.)

When an American meets a Korean...
Have you ever noticed asian guys recently and increasingly hanging around on UT campus?
Many of them are from Korea. Well, no matter good or bad for you, it's true Ut currently has
a lot of international students from Korea. And even in journalism department, 10 Korean graduate
students have registered this semester. It means, if you happen to be a journalism-major or other
communication-major, you have increased chance to encounter Korean guys in the class or around
CMA building.
