I discovered card (tablet) weaving on the web, made some cards from cardboard milk cartons, and used the backstrap loom method to make a cotton yarn sash and llama fiber hatband. My son, Eric, was intrigued with my results, did some research on the web, and decided to use an inkle loom for his card weaving. Following plans for an inkle loom he found, Eric, Claud, and I built the loom in about 5 hours. The only alteration we made was to use 3/4" plywood instead of particle board.
Eric holds the inkle
loom on his lap.
The sash and hatband are draped across it.
