Internships with nonprofit organizations are a bit harder to come by than internships
with government or the private sector...if you want to get paid. ;)
Your first stop should be the binders in OSAP which list previous years' internships.
Look at several years' worth.
Next, check out the Alumni
Directory. To get the password, email
Debbie in OSAP. You can search the database by sector in which the alum is
employed, or just look through the names of employers until something catches
your eye. Then give the alum a call. Trust us, they will talk to you. If their
organization doesn't have an internship, they may be able to refer you.
If you start early enough, you may be able to work with an organization to
fund your internship by writing a grant. If you have an organization in mind,
you might want to talk to Professor
Eaton (he teaches a fundraising course) about what to do next.
