TV ROOM This is the TV Room. Besides the commons, this is another area that people often spend time hanging outand socializing. The TV Room has a cable connection and a VCR for public use but it is possible to reserve the television and VCR for private use. In addition, a variety of magazines and books are usually available as donated by current or past members. The TV Room also contains closets with miscellaneous cleaning supplies, toilet paper, vacuums, etc. for public use.

The TV Room is also the place where the house holds its weekly meetings. Since the house is democratically controlled, meetings serve as an important focus for the functioning of the house. Meeting topics vary widely from debating house policy issues to setting spending priorities to planning house social events. Meetings are also the place where applications for membership are reviewed. Meetings are usually held on weeknights after dinner and are generally limited to one hour in length. See the current schedule if you would like to come and apply in person.

The TV Room is also the site of our monthly educational events. Our education committee representative is responsible for planning events that fit members interests and generally supplement the normal university curriculum. Past topics have included pseudoscience, Wiccan covens and magick, sociology of UFOs, fire safety, and cooperative business, just to name a few.

[For guided tour] Now let's move on to the computer room...
