Event of the Week:

Sat., 01 May  "Mongolian BBQ" Dinner
              (Meet at Laurel House Commons, 6:30 pm)
              We will be car-pooling downtown to the restaurant for
              this study break/social event.  Vegetarian options are
              available.  The cost for members is $3.  Members may
              bring guests, but must pay the full cost of their meal.

Upcoming Laurel House Events:

Sat., 08 May  Laurel House End-of-Semester Dinner
              Laurel House Commons/Courtyard, 6:00 pm.              
              Classes are over and there are four days 'til exams
              begin, so there's no better time for an end-of-semester
              feast!  Join us for this dinner including various
              barbecued items, sumptuous side dishes, and yummy
              desserts.  Vegetarian options will be available.
              Volunteers are needed to help prepare food, cook,
              clean-up, etc.---a sign-up sheet has been placed in the
              commons.  There is no cost to attend.  For more info,
              contact our lovely and ever-dedicated food buyer, Michelle.

Thu., 06 May  "Representing Hip Hop Culture and the Production
                of Black Cinema" 
              Taos Cooperative Dining Room, 7:30 pm.
              This lecture is presented by Prof. S. Craig Watkins from
              the UT Department of Sociology, based upon a book of the
              same name.  Admission is free.  Everyone is welcome to
              attend!

              Voting for our location (Precinct 335) will be 
              at Taos Cooperative, 2612 Guadalupe.  Candidates
              are running for Places 1, 3, and 4.  Information

Sat., 01 May  "Avalon is Gonna Get Funky"
              Avalon Co-op, 3000 University
              According the poster advertising this co-op party, 
              "there is a high probability of debauchery and other 
              interesting occurrences."  In addition, "those who come
              in interesting attire will have priority access to the
              kegs."  Need I say more...

Sun., 09 May  Mother's Day
              I know that you have three exams to study for and
              another two papers to write, but don't forget your mama!
