Kerk Kee is a doctoral student and assistant instructor in organizational communication at the University of Texas at Austin. His research examines diffusion of innovations and technology implementation in organizational, scientific, societal and educational contexts. His current projects look at Facebook, Second Life, TeraGrid, Blackboard, and other information and communication technologies. Besides conducting social and behavioral research, Kerk is also a certified yoga instructor. He teaches group exercise classes at the UT Gregory Gym. |

Sebastián Valenzuela is a doctoral student and teaching assistant in journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. He earned a Licenciatura in journalism and social communication from Chile’s Universidad Católica and a M.A. in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. His research has been shaped around political communication, with particular attention to the role of media on political behavior and civic participation. He is particularly interested in mass and new media effects on citizen engagement as well as how interpersonal communication interacts with media use. Before earning a Fulbright fellowship to join the graduate program at UT in 2005, Valenzuela worked for three years as a reporter for Chile’s main daily newspaper, El Mercurio. He covered issues on social security and insurance. |
