After receiving my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University, SC in 2006, I decided to follow my heart and gave up my engineering carrier. Instead I decided to pursue a degree in German Language and Literature. I received my M.A. from the University of Kentucky (Department of Modern and Classical Languages, Literature & Cultures) in 2008 before I started my Ph.D. at the University of Texas, Austin in the Department of Germanic Studies focusing on applied linguistics. At the same time I have never lost my interested in literature.

I love being in the classroom and I am passionate about teaching. During my studies I had the opportunity to teach beginning and intermediate level courses and I am looking forward to teaching advanced classes as well as graduate courses. While teaching at the University of Kentucky I received the "Teachers who made a difference Award", the "College of Arts and Science Outstanding Teacher Award" and the "Provost Outstanding Teacher Award" in 2008.
