RECENT NEWS ARTICLES CONFIRM THE STORY!!

An article in the Austin Statesman on May 18, 2000 confirms that our government had a secret plan to detonate an atomic bomb on the moon in a surprise move, perhaps to impress the Soviet Union or to beat them to the punch with this extraordinary feat. Little consideration was given by the government to the effects of the destruction of the moon's pristine environment.
The article quotes a letter published in the prestigious science magazine "Nature" in the May 4,2000 issue written by the physicist who was in charge of the project for the Department of Defense. The famous astronomer Carl Sagan was also involved in the project.
