The popular Trip 35 offered automatic exposure by means of a selenium cell around the scale-focusing lens. The film speed is set manually from 25 - 400 ASA. A cable release socket and tripod socket are also provided. A tiny window just below the finder lets you see the focus and exposure setting on the lens mount while composing the picture. The lens ring is threaded for 43.5 mm filters, and the brightline finder has marks for parallax correction. In the autoexposure mode, the shutter locks and a red warning appears in the finder if the light level is too low. For flash photography you manually select an aperture from 2.8 to 22, which also sets the shutter to 1/40 second. Flash provision is by hot shoe and PC connector. Another variant had a metal shutter button in place of the black plastic one on this example. I think that with the metal button is the earlier version. There was also a version that had black top and bottom plates.
