This was the peak of Agfa's line of Rapid cameras. It produces 16 exposures per roll with an image size of 24 x 24 mm. Like the Isomat-Rapid, a green dot appears in the finder when you press the shutter release partway, if the lighting conditions are adequate. There are also cable release and tripod sockets, in addition to a self-timer. Automatic film speed sensing and a hot shoe add to the versatility. A selenium cell governs full autoexposure; the lens ring accepts 35.5 mm filters and closeup lenses. Focusing is by symbols or a feet/meter scale. The fit and finish are excellent.
According to Gunter Kadlubek, this camera was intended to compete with Kodak's Instamatic 500. I don't think it was available in the U.S.
I am currently trying to determine the production numbers of this camera. If you own one, please email me its serial number, found on the end near the film door hinge. Thank you.
