A step up from the entry-level Rapid cameras, this one offers zone focus, hot shoe, autoexposure, auto film speed sensing (40 - 100 ASA), and tripod socket. It produces 16 exposures per roll with an image size of 24 x 24 mm, and the lens mount accepts 32 mm push-on filters. This was the first Rapid camera from Agfa to feature autoexposure. In this mode, a red dot is normally visible in the finder, but a green dot appears when you press the shutter release halfway down if the light level is sufficient. This particular example appears to have hardly been used. I shot a roll of Kodacolor VR 100 in it in late 2000/early 2001, with good results.

There is more information on the Rapid format in the description of the Rapid Modell.

I am in the process of trying to determine how many of these cameras were produced. If you own one, please email me with its serial number, found on the end near the film door latch. Please make sure that the number 2428 is molded in the righthand side of the film chamber; this will verify that you have the same variant of the camera.
