Requirements

Completion of the following UT courses or the equivalent...An official transcript will be required to verify completion of the below-mentioned courses. 

  • 6 semester hours of undergraduate biology courses

              *If taken between Fall 2000 and Spring 2005

  1. BIO 211        Introduction to Biology: Cell Biology

  2. BIO 212        Introduction to Biology: Genetics & Evolution

  3. BIO 214        Introduction to Biology: Structure & Function of Organisms

     *If taken Fall 2005 and after

    1. BIO 311C       Introductory Biology I

    2. BIO 311D       Introductory Biology II

  • CC 306M or CC 336M Medical and Scientific Terminology

A minimum of two semesters of college volunteer experience in a hospital or clinical setting (80hrs minimum)...Verification of hours will be required from the volunteer department(s) where the hours were acquired.

  • One semester must be in Seton Healthcare Network Hospital (40 hrs minimum)

  • Please include hours in other hospital or clinical settings

  • If you do not have any volunteer experience at Seton, please include any type of volunteer experience in a hospital or clinical facility.

  • If you plan on using employment hours in a hospital or clinical setting in place of your volunteer hours, place those hours in the clinical employment section of the application. Please note that employment hours do not count towards the volunteer hours requirement. 

2 Recommendation Letters

  • Evaluation from a University of Texas at Austin professor

  • Evaluation from the specialty area supervisor where you volunteered

A list of tentative activities is needed for the upcoming semester. This list should include planned coursework and times as well as extracurricular activities and/or employment.
