Human-Technology Interactions

In the process of incorporating new technologies into our daily lives, we alter aspects of human interaction. Our activities with technology are not only shaped by culture but culture shapes our approach to technology. I am interested in the role of technology in motivating and mediating change, for example, how do new shared conventions arise and what is the role of culture in creating, teaching, and learning? The success of new procedures relies our attention to recipient design (how we design our actions to be interpreted by others), collaboration in developing new meanings, representational properties of the body, voice, and text, and how we organize the space within which activity occurs.
