Fundraising
Michelle Odanovich and Jennifer Overbeck - Committee Co-Chairs
(Charles Huang, Financial director oversees committee)
The Fundraising Committee will be responsible for creating new
fundraising ideas for Education Council. As a committee, they will decide on a
new t-shirt design each semester. They will also create new ideas for raising
money for Education Council. The Committee Chair(s) will purchase these items
with Education Council monies and will be responsible for making sign-up sheets
for selling the items. This Committee is very important because without money,
Education Council cannot sponsor projects or support other groups and ourselves.

promoting Education Council events throughout the year. As a committee, they
will be responsible for designing, making, and posting flyers, signs, banners,
and announcements as needed for Education Council meetings, events, and special
projects. The use of poster paints and computer applications will be used to
design eye-catching announcements and draw students to become members of
council. recruiting activities can include setting up tables in the West Mall,
participating in a variety of Student Organization fairs and distributing
informational flyers about Education Council. The committee will be responsible
for publicizing Education Council in the Anna Hiss Gym, Belmont Hall, and the
Sanchez Building. Email communication may also be used as a means to communicate
special projects.

The Service Projects Committee will be responsible for
researching and find out out all the special events going on throughout the UT
Campus. They will also be responsible for reaching out to the Austin community
and discovering areas that can benefit from our help. As a committee, they will
decide which events Education Council will participate in. Some of the events
that this committee will consider are Part on the Plaza, Longhorn Halloween,
Explore UT, 40 Acres Fest, Texas Revue, Commencement, Capitol Area Food Bank,
Habitat for Humanity and Project 2005. This committee will also be responsible
for addressing projects that are held internally in the COE and will work on
Senate sponsored events such as Longhorn School Bus. Committee Chairs will set
dates and provide the Council with sign-up sheets for all events. Through this
committee, Education Council will get the COE name visible throughout the UT
Campus and Austin community.
Adopted School
Mari Nakanishi and Alesia Dominguez - Committee Co-Chairs
The Adopted School Committee is an addition this year due to
desire to be able to work more closely and involve ourselves better with both of
our adopted schools, Wooten Elementary and the UT Charter School. Through this
committee, Education Council can focus more of our efforts on giving both of
these schools the type of support they need from us. As a committee, they
will work with these schools to come up with and implement projects and
activities for Council members to participate in. Some ideas that have been done
in the past are a garden at Wooten, pumpkin carving at UT Elementary, and
volunteering at book fairs and RIF.

providing opportunities for members in Education Council and in the College of
Education to network and have fun. As a committee, they will be responsible for
creating social events that will take place during our regularly scheduled

events that this committee will be responsible for are Intramural Sports,

Council from Senate and other COE student organization, planning our 3rd annual
COE Week, Faculty/Staff Appreciation Week and Fall/Spring Banquets. The
