I graduated from high school in 1981 from Dayton, Texas. I moved there from Channelview, in the Houston area. After graduating in 1981 from High School, and working summer jobs in heavy industry, manufacturing, construction and IT@UT, I finished my degree in Computer Sciences in 1986. I worked in the Petroleum Industry for Landmark/Zycor until 1995. Before that, I had brief sojourns at Dell (PC's Limited) and the healthcare industry. Since 1995, I have been doing IT administration and management at UT Austin for a wide variety of departments and colleges through our central IT department. I specialize in Unix administration, but also work with project management on a wide variety of platforms within UT Austin's business units. I am currently in the Training Services group for Information Technology Services. |

I am the USENIX Liaison for UT Austin. Usenix provides a great variety of services in teaching people how to be better system administrators. See their site at Usenix for more details. I actively participate in Alliance Francaise. I am also an Advanced license amateur radio operator, KA5CTC. I love travelling to the warm ramparts of Southern Europe, especially Greece, and plan on visiting Albania in the next few years. 04/2005 Transferred to ITS Training Group at UT Austin to do internal training. 12/2003 Got married to Rozeta Baxha from Albania 03/2003 Visited Greece for the Second Time, right at the start of the second Iraq War. 02/2005 Visited Greece for the first time. See photo gallery. |
