Future Prologues: The Compression of Post-Pop Narratives into Non-Space and Pre-Time features the multimedia work of the Totally Wreck Institute, an Austin artist collective including Ben Aqua (UT Austin BFA Design, 2005), Juan Cisneros (UT Austin BFA Studio Art, 2006), Kyle Dixon (BFA Design from Texas State University, 2007), Mark P. Hensel a.k.a. Mizzzard (UT Austin BFA Studio Art and English, 2006), Mike Ruiz, David Salinas (UT Austin BA Radio-Television-Film and English), Malcolm Elijah Welbourne, and Lanneau White (UT Austin BFA Studio Art, 2007).
Future Prologues explores perceptions of reality and time through Totally Wreck's complex web of self-created mythology, spirituality, and technology. The recent UT alumni have created what they call a cosmic landscape, which fuses matter and anti-matter, transient culture and forgotten materials, findings from past lives and future anomalies, to take the audience on a multimedia odyssey.
