FEW,
SOME, SEVERAL,
MANY, MORE...
An open call exhibition embracing the idea of multiples,
featuring work by students, faculty, alumni, and staff at the University
of Texas at Austin
October 13 - November 10, 2007

Opening Saturday, October 13, the Creative Research Laboratory presents Few,
Some, Several, Many, and More… featuring work based on the idea of multiples by students, faculty, alumni, and staff at the University of Texas at Austin. The opening reception will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Creative Research Laboratory, located at 2832 East Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in Austin.
We encounter multiplicity in every aspect of daily life from mathematics to food ingredients. So is the case in the studio lives of the featured artists. For some it is the shear number of components or the actual layering of material involve in the art process. Multi-steps, multi-media, or collaborations between multiple artists are all variations of multiplicity found in the art of Few,
Some, Several, Many, and More.
For the opening reception only visiting GAPP Artist, Jessica Meyer, will be exhibiting her skin transferable lithography and sharing these non-permanent 'Tattoos' produced while visiting UT and working with printmaking students. In addition to seeing the work, come meet the artists and hear their take on multiplicity on November 6th from 7-9pm at the CRL. The artists presenting work at the show are as follows:
This exhibition has been curated from an open call to the University community at large and features work in a variety of media produced in response to a wide open call for multiples. Participants include not only artists from various areas of the department, but also various departments in the college. The exhibition was curated by the CRL Director Jade Walker. The curatorial concept was developed in collaboration with the CRL Committee.
Creative Research Laboratory presents a year-round schedule of exhibitions of work by students and faculty at the University of Texas at Austin, and facilitates workshops, performances, demonstrations, seminars and collaborations.
