SENIOR DESIGN
SHOW 2007
Fresh new work served up by 23 graduating designers
in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas
at Austin
May 5 - May 26, 2007

Beginning Saturday, May 5th, the Creative Research Laboratory will showcase
the work of seniors from the Design Division within the Department
of Art and Art History. This exhibition will run three weeks and
include photography,
interactive design, printmaking, film, product design, typography
and mixed media. The public is invited to attend this free exhibit,
opening with a reception on Saturday, May 5th from 6:00
p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
It has been said that "design is [a way of] making sense of
things" and
this may ultimately be the best way to define such an all-encompassing
practice. Students studying in this program are taught to observe
and respond to the cultural, socioeconomic, material, political,
geographic and temporal
environment. These ethical designers of the future, who will
imbue our environments with depth, texture and meaning, present
the culmination of
their three-years of studies in this Senior Exhibition.
SENIOR DESIGN SHOW 2007 will feature the work of Ross Abel, Leah Ball,
Rosalind Carnes, Anders Dowd, Jennifer Dunnam, Chappell Ellison, Chelsea
Fullerton, Elizabeth Griffin, Margaret Hill, Barbara Kierewicz, Tomoko
Kuwahara, Dusan Kwiatkowski, Sarah Lembesis, Louis Lepine, Sean Lopano,
Beth Moore, Katie Morgan, Heather Risner, Andrew Rutkowski, Kristin Shoffner,
Alyssa Spiller, Craig Steckbeck and Jonathan Tang.
