Opening at the Creative Research Laboratory with a reception on Saturday, March 31st, the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin presents the first installment of Coda, an exhibition showcasing the work of its artists and designers completing their Master of Fine Arts degrees. Coda is one exhibition with two installments in two different locations.

Starting March 31st and extending to April 29th, Coda at the Creative Research Lab features the work of Erin Cunningham, Ali Fitzgerald, Sara Frantz, Roberto Monteiro, Serene Al Srouji, Alexandra Lopez Iglesias, George Morrow, and Tanisa Sharif. This exhibition features work in the form of video installation, painting, drawing, sculptural installation, and digital imagery.

The Department of Art and Art History is one of the largest and most diverse art departments in the country, with 62 faculty members, 673 undergraduates and 161 graduate students. The MFA Program in Studio Art at UT Austin is ranked twelfth, among 572 rated Liberal Arts Universities in the country, by U.S. News and World Report. The Painting Program is ranked third and Printmaking is ranked the sixth .

The MFA Program in Studio Art is an intense and challenging 3-year program. Students work closely with faculty and consult with distinguished visiting artists and critics as they investigate contemporary art issues, build conceptual and technical skills, and develop independent creative work. In the two-year MFA program in Design, students respond to cultural, socio/economic, material, political, geographic and temporal environments to develop a design process and methodology with applications across a range of disciplines, including graphic design, product/industrial design, film/animation, and architecture .

Creative Research Laboratory presents a year-round schedule of exhibitions of work by students and faculty at the University of Texas at Austin, and facilitates workshops, performances, demonstrations, seminars and collaborations.

The Laboratory is located in East Austin at 2832 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., inside Flatbed World Headquarters. Free parking and bus service are available on Capitol Metro's route 18. Creative Research Laboratory is open from noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The activities of the Department of Art and Art History and the Creative Research Laboratory are open to the public without charge.
