Opening Friday, September 10, Creative Research Laboratory presents Hive, an exhibition of recent work by seven faculty artists in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin. The opening reception will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Creative Research Laboratory.

Hive is a diverse sampling of work cultivated from the energy of busy activity. The show features a new series of drawings by Robert Dale Anderson, lithographs and etchings by Tom Druecker, large abstract watercolors by Bill Wiman, as well as a video installation by Bill Lundberg. A photo documentation project by Dan Olsen captures the folk design of ranch gates, focusing our attention on their idiosyncratic design and typography. The exhibition will also feature a painting by Michael Ray Charles and a large-scale sculptural installation by Margo Sawyer.

Creative Research Laboratory presents a year-round schedule of exhibitions of work by students and faculty at the University of Texas at Austin and facilitates workshops, performances, demonstrations, seminars and collaborations.

The Lab is located at 2832 East Martin Luther King Boulevard , located in East Austin at 2832 East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, inside Flatbed World Headquarters. There is ample free parking and bus service available on Capitol Metro's route 18. The activities of the Department of Art and Art History and the Creative Research Laboratory are free and open to the public.
