My work attempts to engage the viewer in a dialogue that fosters critical thinking. My role as a graphic designer is to disseminate information in a visual format that will allow a diverse audience to select, process, and retain the information. Visual design provides me with a set of tools that can encourage the viewer/audience to participate in a dialogue.

Shocking graphics, hidden agendas and inflammatory language often cause the viewer to withdraw from the material presented. Direct, clear, simple communication can be a productive and positive way to re-engage the audience by providing an even tone with which one can begin dialogue.
