More Please

November 7 - December 5, 2002 at Creative Research Laboratory

October 28, 2002, Austin, TX: Creative Research Laboratory announces the opening of "More Please," an exhibition of ten faculty artists in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin. The exhibition will take place November 7 through December 5 at the Creative Research Laboratory. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, November 7, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

" More Please" presents a visual experience of teeming imagery and lush color in work that ranges from small graphite drawings to large scale oil and acrylic paintings, encaustic, watercolors, serigraphs, and ceramic mosaics. The exhibition features work by faculty artists Robert Dale Anderson, Steven Bernard Jones, Timothy High, Bradley Petersen, Dan Sutherland, Susan Whyne, and Bill Wiman. It also includes work by emeritus professors Michael Frary, Paul Hatgill, and Ralph White.

Refreshments at the opening reception are provided courtesy of Kurant Events.

An informal conversation, “Small Pencils / Big Space,” will take place with two of the artists, Dan Sutherland and Robert Dale Anderson, on Thursday, November 14, 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The artists will talk about how their work responds to historical painting and drawing, to contemporary ideas, and to each other’s work.

All exhibitions and programs at Creative Research Laboratory are free of charge and open to the public.
