The University of Texas at Austin and Cosmos Foundation jointly conduct at least 3 full-day (8 hour) training sessions per year: in the fall, spring, and summer. Trainings occur on the UT campus, typically. Presenters are employees of the University of Texas at Austin, Cosmos Foundation, and other organizations. Between training sessions, participants review study material.

All training sessions are under the joint control of the University of Texas at Austin and Cosmos Foundation, Inc.  We mutually arrange the date, time, and duration of the training.  The University determines the location of the training on its campus and which of its faculty shall teach the training course.  Both the University and Cosmos Foundation control the subject matter and content of the training, i.e., what is taught.  For instructors at the training session who are not employees of the University, both parties agree on their participation. The University decides the method of instruction, whether a test shall be given to attendees, the content of the exam, whether to award certificates of completion or attendance, and to whom such certificates should be given.

Any employee or person who has been offered employment with Cosmos may attend.  In addition, Cosmos Foundation requires some of its professional employees, or persons who have been offered positions with Cosmos Foundation, to attend.

Besides jointly managed training programs, Cosmos Foundation and the University of Texas cooperate and are affiliated in other ways.

  • Teachers and staff at Harmony schools encourage their quality students to apply to / attend the University of Texas, especially for careers in science and engineering.

  • Cosmos facilitates the conduct of research by University professors or scientists with students, with the informed consent of parents.

  • The University allows access to University facilities and selected faculty by Harmony students during the preparation of science and engineering fair projects.

  • Cosmos allows University faculty to participate in the judging of math, science, and engineering competitions involving Harmony students.

  • Cosmos and University employees may jointly prepare research grant applications and carry out any research funded by that grant.
