Our trip to the Southwest got off to a lazy start as we enjoyed what Austin has to offer - a few days indulging ourselves at Barton Springs and our favorite eatery - Casa de Luz, just down the road from the Springs.

Drivin' through them west Texas backroads... not too shabby. We always make a pit stop at our favorite freshwater swimmin' hole known this side or any side of the Pecos- Balmorhea State Park, featuring one of the nations' largest natural spring-fed swimming pools- full of crystal clear 72 degree water and schools of friendly little fishies.

Onward to New Mexico - we discovered some nice hot springs just north of Demming, New Mexico.
