- Reported to have built the first distillery of whiskey in Bourbon County, Kentucky. Due to the blend of corn and grains used, together with the water from a limestone spring, the whiskey product was considered superior, and reportedly essentially set a standard against which good Kentucky whiskey has been measured since then.
