The same source also reports that Nancy was also the mother of children Stephen Jr. and Arnold. - The wedding is actually registered in Schulyer County, Illinois. - William Mattingly reports that Sarah Ann was probably raised by her aunt, Sarah Elizabeth Mattingly and husband William Elder, after the death of Sarah Ann's mother, Nancy Hardesty. Still another source reports that Sarah Ann was raised by another of father's sisters, Catherine Mattingly and husband, James Rhodes II. - William Mattingly reports that Sarah Ann lived to 1945, meaning she would have been 109 years of age at her decease.
