Announcements and Discussion Links

Here is a link to the 312K general syllabus for this semester.  Our sections are using Schedule A.  Remember that this syllabus is for long-range planning; you need to check the daily assignments page for homework, quizzes, etc.

FINAL EXAM has finally been announced!!! Our exam will be on Thursday, December 13 from 2-5 pm.  Please check your schedules for any conflict with other exams.  If you do have a conflict, the make-up is the same night from 7-10. Check your schedules ASAP; if you need to take the make-up, you must tell me before the last day of class, so that I can register you for it.

The "Intercambio" for this semester is being held every Monday from 5-6 in the Asian American Culture Room, Texas Union. This is a program that brings learners of Spanish together with native speakers of Spanish who are studying English.  You speak for about 1/2 hour in one language and then switch, so everybody gets to practice. This program is open to everyone but is really designed for 312K and 312L levels, so you are strongly encouraged to participate if at all possible.  Not only will you make new friends and improve your Spanish quickly, you'll also learn things that no class can ever teach you.

Another opportunity for extra free help in Spanish:
Free tutoring sponsored by the Spanish Department in FAC 28.  There is a list on the door of that office of the tutors and the hours they are available. These tutors can explain grammar, review tests or assignments that have already been graded, give you tips on how to study, etc.  They are not necessarily familiar with the exact content of different courses.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Please remember that you are NOT allowed to have help in preparing ANY written assignments.  Tutors may help you learn verb forms and vocabulary, explain things to you, help you practice listening comprehension, etc, but they may NOT correct or even proof-read anything that you will be turning in.
