We will be meeting in WEL 1.308 tomorrow night (February 10th) due to some sort of official function (probably an exam) taking place in our usual room. Welch 1.308 is the room next door to our usual room. Please don’t barge into our normal room and disturb the test-takers!
Posted on February 2, 2012
Just a reminder, we will have no showing this Friday (February 3rd) due to Ushicon (a local-area anime convention) taking place this Friday through Sunday. We will resume our regular schedule next week (February 10th).

Welcome back! We hope that you all had a good Winter Break and are back and ready for the new semester. The first Anime Club meeting of 2012 will be held this coming Friday, January 20th, in our usual location (Welch Hall, room 1.316)*. The lineup is mostly a continuation of last semester’s, although there are a few new titles filling in the spaces for those shows that concluded last Fall.
* Actually, we still haven’t heard back from the Student Orgs office about our room reservations for this semester, so there’s a (small) chance that we’ll have a Late Start night or something this Friday. If that occurs, we’ll post an update here.

This Friday’s showing (December 2nd) will be the final meeting of the Fall 2011 semester. We’ll be showing two movies; after tallying all the votes for what you wanted to see, the winners were Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva (winner by a landslide!) and Colorful (the final victor of a near-tie between it and two of the other top contenders).
After this week’s meeting, we’ll break for the holidays and resume our usual weekly lineup in the January, along with some fresh additions to take the place of the shows that we’ve finished this semester. If you have any last-minute suggestions or requests for the new lineup, this Friday will be your last chance before the break to let us know, so be sure to put some suggestions into The Cube on Friday! We’ll see you then….

It is time, once again, for our annual Halloween Cosplay Contest! Dress up in a costume—ideally, but not necessarily, one that could plausibly be claimed to be anime-, manga-, or game-related—and compete for glory, fame, and prizes! (Glory and fame not guaranteed.)
The contest will be held during the break this Friday (October 28th). We will also have food, candy, and possibly other stuff as well. Bring your friends (or enemies)! Costumes encouraged, but not required. And of course, we will still be watching anime, as usual. We’ll see you there!

Please note that there will be a test (or some other function) taking place in our room right before our meeting this Friday (October 21st), so we will not meet until 7:30 PM this week. Please do not disturb the students taking the test! If you arrive early, please wait (quietly) in the hall until the Officers have verified that the test is over and the room has been vacated. Thank you!

This week marks the 24th birthday of the Anime Club, which was founded (or at least formally registered as a UT student group) on September 24th, 1987. We’re pretty sure that it is older than most of its members at this point, so you can boast to your friends, grandparents, and potential employers about being a member of a generations-old Society. Feel free to refer to us as a scholarly order, secret society, quasi-religious rite, or whatever works best in your situation.
In celebration of this date, at this Friday’s meeting (September 23rd), we will be serving tasty confectionaries of an as-yet undisclosed nature. Come celebrate with us! And maybe sign up for a membership, if you haven’t already. (But you can still have free food, even if you unwisely turn away from the path of full membership.)
We’ll see you there tonight!

The schedules for the Fall 2011 semester are now online. See you on Friday!
Posted on August 19, 2011
The first meeting of the Fall semester will be held on Friday, August 26th; we have not yet received our official room assignments, but presumably it will be held at the usual place and time (Welch Hall 1.316 at 7:00PM).
Schedules for the semester will be posted here soon; check back next week to see what’s in store. We hope to see you all next Friday!
Posted on July 15, 2011
Because Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika was licensed for US release, we have removed it from the lineup. In its place, we will be showing the first season of Hetalia.
Posted on July 7, 2011
Just a reminder, there will be no showing this Friday (July 8th) due to midterm exams for the Summer session. We will resume our regular weekly meetings next week. Good luck on your exams!
Posted on May 29, 2011
The first showing of the Summer 2011 semester will be held this Friday, June 3rd, in our usual room (WEL 1.316). Schedules will be posted online later this week. We hope to see you there!

Join us tonight (May 6th) for the second of the Legend of Galactic Heroes movies, “Overture to a New War.” We will also be concluding Baccano! and Zegapain tonight. Plus, this is the final night for our Librarian, Katelyn, to show one more episode of Master Keaton before she graduates; don’t miss it!
This will the the final showing for the Spring 2011 semester; study and do well on your exams, and we’ll see you again next semester! Summer showings will begin in June; check back here later for the schedules.

Join us this Friday (April 29th) as we show the first of the Legend of Galactic Heroes movies, “My Conquest is the Sea of Stars.”
Please note that there will be a test (or some other function) taking place in the room before us this week, so we will not meet until 7:30 PM. Please do not disturb the students taking the test! If you arrive early, please wait (quietly) in the hall until the Officers have verified that the test is over and the room has been vacated. Thank you!

This Friday, we will—at long last—be showing the final episode of Legend of Galactic Heroes. Some of you have been attending faithfully since we started with episode #1 back in Fall 2007; others of you have joined over the intervening years, and have, hopefully, caught up. A few of you, most unwisely, haven’t even been watching it.
At any rate, the four-year, 110-episode-long run of this epic OVA series—the longest series that Anime Club has ever shown in its entirety—concludes this Friday. In recognition of LoGH’s basically unassailable awesomeness, and as a reward for everyone who has watched it with us over the years, we will be having a LoGH celebration during the Break at this week’s meeting. There will be (LoGH-themed) cake, there might be LoGH cosplay, and—according to Katelyn, anyway—there is even a chance of some sort of Free Planets Alliance Anthem Sing-Along. You do not want to miss this festival of awesomeness (except maybe for the sing-along part)!
Furthermore, we are concluding the much shorter (but still pretty awesome) Scrapped Princess this Friday, as well. This will also figure prominently in the celebration, in an edible fashion.
Really, you do not want to miss this week’s meeting. Furthermore, we recommend you bring friends and allies.

Welcome back from Spring Break!
We are back in our usual room this week; but please note that there will be a test (or some other function) taking place in the room before us this Friday (March 25th), so we will not meet until 7:30 PM this week. Please do not disturb the students taking the test! If you arrive early, please wait (quietly) in the hall until the Officers have verified that the test is over and the room has been vacated. Thank you!

This Friday (March 11th), we will be meeting in WEL 3.502 instead of in our usual room. WEL 3.502 is the “outside room” on the back of Welch Hall, with the entrance facing Hogg.
Posted on February 18, 2011
We’re back in our usual room (WEL 1.316) at the usual time (7:00 PM) this week (February 18th). See you there!
Posted on February 9, 2011
Don’t forget—we will be meeting in Painter Hall (PAI) room 2.48 this Friday (February 11th), because all rooms in Welch Hall are reserved for a special function this week. We will return to our usual zone next week.
Posted on February 3, 2011
Just a reminder, we will have no showing this Friday (February 4th) due to Ushicon (a local-area anime convention) taking place this Friday through Sunday. We will resume our regular schedule next week.

Welcome back! We hope that you all had a good Winter Break and are back and ready for the new semester. The first Anime Club meeting of the Spring 2011 semester will be held this coming Friday, January 21st, in our usual location (Welch Hall, room 1.316).
In the lineup, we will be continuing (and, by the end of the semester, concluding) the series that we didn’t finish last semester: Legend of Galactic Heroes, Scrapped Princess, and Zegapain. We also have several new shows that we hope you’ll enjoy; watch for the full schedules to be posted here soon!
See you all on Friday….

This Friday’s showing (December 3rd) will be the final meeting of the Fall 2010 semester. It will be a special Double Movie Night, and will conclude with the long-awaited final chapter of Giant Robo. Don’t miss it!
We will also have, during the break, a special activity, capable of generating copious amounts of Achievement Points to accrue on your Anime Club records! You don’t want to miss it! Achievement Points will lead directly to prizes, glory, and additional stickers for your ID card, starting next semester….
We will also have a survey that you can fill out to provide feedback on this semester’s lineup. Please fill one out! If you do not, you will have no one to blame but yourself* if next semester’s lineup is nothing but Master Keaton or something.
* and Katelyn

Just a couple of quick reminders: This week’s meeting (November 19th) will begin at 7:30 PM (half an hour later than usual), due to a class having reserved the room for a test earlier in the evening. If you arrive early, please wait quietly in the hall until it is time for us to have the room. (Don’t stick your head in to check on the status of the test-takers!)
Next week (November 26th), there will be no meeting, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Don’t try to show up then! The building will be locked, we will not be there, and you might get arrested or something for lurking about the place.
The final showing of the Fall 2010 semester will be held on December 3rd.

A couple of weeks ago, we held our annual Halloween Cosplay Contest. Now behold the amazing photos! (Click a photo to view the full-sized image.)
As we began our preparations, Thai attempted, unsuccessfully, to start “the wave” out in the audience. Or at least, I guess that is what he was doing in this photo.
![Thai, waving his arms around for some unknown reason [Thai, waving his arms around for some unknown reason]](img/news/2010F-Cosplay-Thai_wave.jpg)
Once things got underway, the contest was quickly decided. All hail the Emperor of the Galaxy!
![Mein Kaiser! [Lindsey as the Emperor]](img/news/2010F-Cosplay-Mein_Kaiser.jpg)
Our other contestants also engaged in fierce cosplay battle. Behold those whose bravery brought them forth in costume, to be photographed for the world to see:

![[Russia from Hetalia]](img/news/2010F-Cosplay-Russia.jpg)

Finally, there was this guy. Wait—Derek, that’s not a costume! Our vice-president’s wily subterfuge did not succeed.

Last Friday, shortly before Anime Club was scheduled to start, there was a chemical spill inside Welch Hall (what a surprise!). We were left locked out in the cold* while dangerous-looking HazMat squads worked furiously to cover up all evidence of the accident.** We were eventually allowed inside, but we had to drop the first half of the lineup due to the delays. Also, our normal room smelled of poison and death,*** so we relocated to an upstairs room with a more Earth-like atmosphere.
Through a suspiciously coincidental bit of luck, we had exactly enough open “TBA” slots remaining in the semester to make up for the three regularly scheduled shows that we had to omit last week; thus, the schedules for the remaining showings have been updated accordingly, and everthing should still wrap up on schedule by the end of the semester (as long as nothing else spills, leaks, ignites, or explodes in or around Welch between now and then).
* Not really that cold
** Set up fans to ventilate the area
*** The chemical in question was of the heavier-than-air variety—not good, considering that our regular room is in the basement

Halloween is nearly here, which means it is time for the annual Halloween Cosplay Contest! Dress up in a costume that can at least be argued to be, in some fashion, somewhat anime-, manga-, or game-related, and compete for glory and prizes by parading before your peers!
The contest will be held during the break period of the October 29th meeting. That’s barely a week and a half away, so start getting ready now!

This Friday is the 23rd birthday of Anime Club, which was founded on September 24th, 1987. This birthday, like most birthdays, rarely falls on a Friday; and even when it does, I'm pretty sure that it has never actually been celebrated before. But this week, my friends, we will celebrate it, because we can.
For the Random Slot, we will show something that was released and/or airing in 1987. Come to see what it will be! Furthermore, and perhaps most importantly, during the Break period, there will be tasty Cake.
So, come celebrate with us! Bring your friends and/or enemies (and get them to sign up for memberships)!

“Surely,” you thought, “they couldn’t make Katelyn carry any more DVDs.” But no, the Library has grown again!
Just in time for the Club’s birthday this Friday, we have added hundreds of new discs to the Library. We now have over 725 DVDs available for check-out!
If you aren’t a member yet, perhaps you should consider joining. No, do not even consider: Simply do it now! It really is the only sensible course of action.
See you all on Friday!

If you have recently signed up for a membership and have not yet picked up your undeniably cool and certifiably stylish Anime Club Membership Card, then please come down to the Officer Zone at the beginning of the Break (but not while we’re setting up before the meeting, please!) and claim your card. So far, only around half of you have done so, which is, frankly, inconceivable by any reasonable standard.
As for those of you who—wholly at odds with what is right and proper—haven’t yet signed up as a member, we strongly encourage you to do so, at the earliest possible opportunity! (That would be this Friday.) And then pick up your card, too, please.
A lifetime of glory—not to mention endless riches and social opportunities far out of proportion to what a more mundane student might aspire to—could begin with a single flash of your Anime Club Membership ID. NOW IS THE TIME.

The first meeting of the Fall semester will be held on Friday, August 27th at the usual place and time (Welch Hall 1.316 at 7:00PM).
Schedules for the semester will be posted online soon; expect to see the long-running series from last Spring continuing (some of them reaching their conclusions this semester), as well as a hearty blend of old-school classics and more modern fare. Additionally, prepare yourselves for a significant boost in the already voluminous DVD lending library in the upcoming weeks.
We hope to see you all next Friday!

Just as a reminder, there will be no meeting on July 9th, due to exams taking place for first-session Summer courses. Things will resume as usual on July 16th.

It is with sadness that we learned earlier this week that Jim Rosenbaum, a former Officer and member of the Anime Club during the 1990s, passed away unexpectedly last weekend. Jim was an active member of the Club in its early years, helping out with equipment and media, and working on a number of subtitling projects in the days of Laser Discs and Amiga 2000 subtitling systems.
A number of former officers and Club members, as well as other friends and family, will be traveling to Colorado for a memorial service this weekend. This Friday, during the Break, we will show episode #1 of Future Boy Conan, one of the key projects that he worked on in the early years of the Club.

The schedules for this semester are now online. The first showing of the Summer will take place this Friday (June 11th). We hope to see you there!
Posted on June 3, 2010
Just as a reminder, there will be no showing this Friday (June 4th), due to the Officers (and probably most of the Club) being away in Dallas for A-Kon this weekend.
The first showing of the Summer semester will take place next Friday (June 11th). Schedules will probably be posted early next week (after we get back from A-Kon)….

The final meeting of the Spring 2010 semester will be held this Friday (May 7th). The showing will be a double movie night, opening with Paprika and ending the night with Angel’s Egg. We will also be showing the conclusion of the current arc in LoGH — if you didn’t see last week’s episodes, you would be wise to catch up before watching this week! — and the final episode of Gal Circle (the live-action series being shown during the Break).
We are still working on the schedule for Summer, so if you have any series in particular that you would like to see, please let us know (either via email, or via The Cube® at Friday’s meeting).

We have added almost 200 new DVDs to the Library, thanks to the generous contributions of Cloyce and Gretchen! The new titles will be available for check-out starting this Friday (April 16th). If you arent’t yet a member, consider signing up this week!

Welcome back from Spring Break!
We will resume our usual lineup this week; however, please note that we will have a late start (7:30PM) this Friday (March 26th), due to a test or other official class function reserving the room before us. Please do not disturb the students taking the test. See you at 7:30!

Apparently the DVD/Blu-Ray releases of the final episodes of Bakemonogatari—extra episodes that were not part of the original TV run—have been delayed by the show’s producers until sometime in early June. Therefore, we will end our run of the series with episode #12 next week (April 2nd).
That is the end of the series as it aired on TV in Japan, so there should be at least a bit of closure; or, at any rate, you’ll be sharing your suffering with all of the fans in Japan, who are waiting just as impatiently as you are for the extra episodes to be released.

This Friday (March 12th) will be a Movie Night: We will be showing the 1995 film Memories.
Next week (March 19th), there will be no showing due to Spring Break.
We will resume our normal weekly schedule on March 26th.
Posted on February 22, 2010
There will be a test (or some other function) taking place in the room before us this Friday (February 26th), so we will not meet until 8:00 PM this week. Please do not disturb the students taking the test! If you arrive early, please wait (quietly) in the hall until the Officers have verified that the test is over and the room has been vacated. Thank you!

After much deliberation, we have decided upon GA Geijutsuka Art Design as the replacement for Toradora!, which was licensed last week. Thank you to everyone who submitted suggestions to The Cube (or, in one case, via email)! We now have plenty of potential titles for the Random Slot, as well as a head start on ideas for the lineup for upcoming semesters….
Posted on February 12, 2010
Toradora! has been licensed for U.S. distribution, so it has been removed from the lineup. A replacement for the remainder of the semester will be decided upon shortly.

We have recently added a number of new titles to our DVD lending library. We now have nearly 250 DVDs available for check-out by members, with even more on the way later this Spring! As always, library check-outs are free for active members (with a refundable media deposit on record). If you are not already a member, perhaps now is the time to join….

This Friday, the lineup will be mostly random episodes, concluded with the 1984 Macross movie Do You Remember Love? The normal lineup will return on the 27th, following Spring Break.
For the random slots, we will be selecting three shows from these five: Kannagi, Macademi Wasshoi!, Toradora!, Tytania, and Kamen no Maid Guy. The final selection will be made at the showing on Friday.
Because the chemistry emergency in the building last week caused us to start an hour late, the PaniPoni episodes that we were unable to show will instead be shown at the beginning of this week’s meeting, in order to keep the schedule on track.

This Friday (October 17th), we will begin taking applications for memberships and library access. The dues for membership will be $7 for the entire 2008–2009 school year, or $4 for just the Fall semester. (The rates are normally higher, but have been reduced due to part of the semester already being over.)
Per UT regulations for student groups, you must be a UT student, faculty, or staff member in order to join as a member and borrow DVDs from the library. (Our Friday night showings are still, as always, free and open to the public.)
The library will contain over 150 DVDs, most of which are Region 1 (US commercial releases) with subtitles. The entire library list will be posted online soon. A member will be able to check out up to two DVDs at a time; each DVD may be borrowed for up to two weeks. A deposit of $10 per DVD must be paid before DVDs may be borrowed. (Note that this is not a rental fee; it is a one-time deposit, which can be returned upon request as long as you have no outstanding late fees, lost DVDs, etc. on record.)
For complete details, please see the Club Bylaws. We will also explain the system in more detail at Friday’s meeting.

Schedules for the Summer semester are now online. The first showing will be held on Friday, June 10th.
Also, beginning this semester we are slightly changing the format of the showings: In order to bring you a more powerful lineup (i.e., more anime, less break), we are now showing four episodes before the break. (The post-break portion of the showing is still six episodes long.) This will reduce the length of the break to 15 - 20 minutes; the restart time will remain the same (around 9:05 under ideal conditions).
If you have any issues with this new format, please voice your opinions at the meeting (via the Suggestion Cube). If everyone likes the new schedule layout, we plan to adopt it for the regular (long session) showings beginning this Fall.

Also, we will be presenting the draft Constitution and Bylaws for the club at tonights meeting. Please be sure to attend! We will be taking a vote to ratify the Constitution and Bylaws in two weeks (April 12th).

Don't forget, there is a test in the room before us tonight (March 22nd), so the showing won't start until 7:30. Do not disturb the class taking the test!

Just a reminder, there is no showing this week (the 15th) due to Spring Break. Showings will resume next week.

There is a new section in the archives for official documents or anything related to the business of running the club, which currently contains the letter from the University. If you have any questions, please let us know.

To everyone returning from last semester, welcome back. The schedule for the Summer showings have been moved to the archives, along with the news posts, and the Fall schedule is up. Everything else should be updated soon.
Since this is the beginning of a new semester, I again submit my request to any UT student with a pencil to send in art for the web page. Anime is the theme, original designs are welcome, and if you can’t scan it then bring it to a meeting and give it to an officer.

Information about the first showing of the fall semester is up.

The schedule has been updated to include a new showing, which has allowed us to include two more complete series: Oh My Goddess! (5 episodes) and Those Who Hunt Elves (12 episodes).
Posted on June 9, 2001

To everyone who went to Project: A-Kon, welcome back! Summer showings will begin this Friday (6/8 — tomorrow). We hope to see as many people as possible.
The web page design has been reworked again, although most of the changes were behind the scenes. You will probably notice more buttons up top for faster access, and the archives are complete.
Also new is the Summaries page, for posting information related to a certain show. If anyone feels like providing a summary for something we are watching or have watched in the past, send it here. If there is a call for it, the page could be expanded to include reviews and comments from the members.
I’m sorry that the library information is still not available, and there is still no art to be found. (Please, submit something, anything!)

Welcome to the new web page design for the Anime Club at UT Austin. The temporary page wasn’t up nearly as long as I thought it would be. Construction is still in progress, so be careful of falling objects.
This is the new news format. At the bottom, there is a signature bar with the name of the officer who supplied the information, and the date of the post. When this page becomes too full, the older posts will be moved to the Archives.
If you would like to submit art for the webpage, email it here, or give it to one of the officers at a meeting. Be sure to include your name and email if you would like credit.

A partial update in the showings page has what we have shown so far over the Summer as well as the tentative showings for the rest of the session.
Posted on June 22, 2000
Yes, we’re still around. Yes, we’re having summer showings (with no library). The lack of updates is (mostly) due to a lack of new information, and the webmaster’s work on a new version of the site. Big changes coming. Stay tuned.

Welcome to the year 2000, folks. Now where’s my jetpack and robot butler?
The first showing of the spring semester will be on Friday, January 21st in the usual location of Welch 1.316. Dates for the rest of the semester can be found on the showings page, and individual showing schedules will be added as they become available.
As part of the New Year’s housecleaning, the old news items have been moved to the ever-exciting old news page. There have also been minor changes and updates to the People and Links pages.

The July 2nd showing will be held in Welch 2.224, instead of the usual location. Room 2.224 is on the ground-level floor, instead of downstairs.
And, contrary to previous mailing-list announcements, we will be having a showing on July 9th, in our usual location of Welch 1.316. All showings for the rest of the summer semester will be in that room.

What happened to the web guy? The web guy has a new job and a lot more work to do. Apologies are offered for the rarity of updates recently.
Project A-Kon is coming up next wek, on June 4th, 5th, and 6th. Since all of the club officers (and most of the membership) will be at the con, we’re starting the summer showings a little late….
The first showing of the summer semester will be on Friday, June 11th, in the usual location. Also as usual, there will be no library checkouts during the summer.
The T-shirts got printed, they turned out great, and we sold a bunch of them at the last two showings of the spring semester. We’ll also have them for sale at Project A-Kon.
Posted on March 31, 1999
The T-shirt design vote took place at the March 26th meeting, and the winning submission was #1, by Michael Van Slyke, with #6 coming in a close second. The process of getting the shirts printed will now begin. Further news will be posted as it becomes available. Questions can be sent to Christian Wagner.
Posted on March 21, 1999
Voting for the T-shirt design will occur during the library break on Friday, March 26th. The ballots will be collected by hand, with one ballot per person. Questions can be sent to Christian Wagner.
Posted on March 1, 1999
The T-shirt design submissions are scanned and posted.
Schedule updates are on hold, temporarily. Thanks for being patient.

Better late than never, the schedules for the previous two showings, as well as listings for the February 19th and 26th showings, are now up on the showings page.
Posted on January 27, 1999
The listing for the January 22nd showing has been updated to match what was actually shown, and the schedule for the January 29th showing has been added.

The schedule for the first showing is up. More to come.
Posted on January 3, 1999
The first showing of the Spring 1999 semester will be on January 22nd, and the rest of the showing dates are listed on the showings page. The will be linked to actual showing schedules as they become available.
The news page has been wiped clean for the new year, and old news items can now be found on the old news page.
And finally, a reminder that the deadline for T-shirt submissions will be at the first meeting on the 22nd. We want to have as many submissions as possible, so any and all club artists are invited to try their hand.

This Friday’s showing will be the last of the semester.
All checked-out library tapes will be due back by the end of the break.
The showing dates for next semester will be up ASAP.
The first meeting of next semester will be the deadline for T-shirt artwork submissions. The official deadline was the end of this semester, but we’re extending it since the deadline was given on such short notice. Once the submissions have been accepted, they’ll be scanned in and posted here on the web site, and voting will occur soon after. The submissions can be color or black-and-white, and can be either a single image or a front-and-back combination. The voting will take place during one of the library breaks of the spring semester.
Posted on November 17, 1998
The schedules for the last two showings of the semester have been updated.
Also of note: the December 4th showing, the last one of the semester, will start late, since the showings room will not be available until 7:30.
Posted on November 5, 1998
First: Tentative schedules are up for the rest of the semester.
Second: This week’s showing will be starting late, due to a conflict of room schedules. Depending on how things go, the library break may or may not be occurring before the showing, and not in the middle of it.
Third: The webmaster would like to hear any and all comments, suggestions, and (especially) complaints regarding the club web site, since it may be undergoing changes during the winter break.
Posted on October 19, 1998
There is a tentative schedule up for the Halloween Showing. The lack of a listing for an October 30th showing was a mistake by your (ever-apologetic) webguy.
Posted on September 16, 1998
Listings through October 23rd are up on the showings page.
Posted on August 25, 1998
The first part of the Fall 1998 showings schedule is up on the showings page. More information to come, and the webmaster promises that the web page will more accurately reflect what we’re showing, this semester. ^_^
Posted on June 8, 1998
The July 10th club showing will be in the alternate showing location, Welch 1.308.
Posted on June 4, 1998
Well, the WebSlave has finally recovered from Project A-Kon (sort of), and finally has the schedule for the June 5th showing online. For those of you who were wondering, the summer showings will be in the same location as the spring showings.
There is also now a list of dates for the Fall 1998 showings on the showings page.
More minor web page updates to come, including (maybe) some contributions from the Secret Masters of the Anime Club….
Posted on May 19, 1998
The summer showings will begin on June 5th. A list of dates is up on the showings page, and will be linked to video schedules when available.
Posted on May 17, 1998
The last showing of the Anime Club @ UT for the spring semester was on May 8th. Stay tuned to the site for news on when the summer showings will begin.
As usual, there will be no library check-outs available during the summer. The library staff will be using the summer break to (re)organize the video and audio tape libraries, and hopefully to add new features to the club’s computer database, to make checkouts and checkins faster and easier.
Project A-Kon 9 is coming up at the end of the month. At least half of the club members attend the Kon every year, for good reason, so make your plans now.
Articles prior to 1998 were not regularly
maintained; few written records exist from before this distant era.
Some Club Elders maintain tales through oral tradition
dating back to the fabled 1980s, when the Club
Itself began; ask nicely, and they might offer stories
and legends from those halcyon days of yore.
