Schedules for Summer 2003
All showings are free and open to the public.
All schedules are tentative and subject to change. In the
event of a change of schedule, we will do our best to notify
members via the mailing list.
However, we cannot guarantee that things will not change at
the last possible moment (though we try to avoid this).
The current week's and next week's schedules are emailed to
the mailing list each week (usually
every Thursday afternoon/evening). Special announcements such
as room changes, late starts, etc. are also included in these
announcements (as well as being posted on the news page).
Unless otherwise noted, all scheduled programs, with the
exception of items shown during the break, are in Japanese
with English subtitles. (Break items are usually in Japanese
only.)
Old schedules can be found in the
archives.
Time and Place
Showings usually begin at 7:00 PM and last until midnight,
with a roughly 30 to 45 minute break after the third show
(around 8:15 this semester). During summer sessions,
the library is not available, so
the breaks may be somewhat shorter. Sometimes the room that
we use is not available until 7:30 (due to an exam or other
class-related room reservation); in such an event (which
usually happens at least twice a semester), we will post a
message to the mailing list
as well as on the main page as soon as
we are notified (usually at least a week or two in advance).
We will also make an announcement during the meeting the
week before, but the web site and the mailing list are
always considered the official channel regarding news
of scheduling changes.
We also periodically hold Saturday Marathons. These
special Saturday showings are held in the usual location,
unless otherwise stated on the schedule for that evening.
Start times vary depending on what (and how much) is
being shown; Saturday Marathons typically start in the
late afternoon/evening and run until around midnight
(often with a dinner break at some point). Saturday
Marathons are used to show titles that do not otherwise
appear in the lineups, so you needn't worry about missing
an episode if you can only make the normal Friday night
showings.
For this semester only, our normal room (WEL 1.316) is
not available (due to renovations); we will be meeting in
Welch
Hall room 2.224 (the large classroom on the
ground floor).
Welch hall is located at the southwest corner of
Speedway
and 24th Street. If you do not know how to get to campus,
send us an email
and we will be happy to help provide directions.
