The Showings

All club showings are free and open to the public. Viewings are held in Welch 1.316 at 7 pm on every Friday during the Spring, Summer and Fall Semesters, unless otherwise noted. Other club business, including signups and all library business, takes place in Welch 2.308, just upstairs from the viewing room.

Welch Hall is at the southwest corner of Speedway and 24th.

Current showing schedules can be found on the Showings page, and are usually posted to the club mailing list. Old schedules (for the curious) can be found on the Archives page.

The Library

The club library of video and audio tapes is available during the Fall and Spring showings, during the showing break. Times vary, but it is usually around 8:20PM to 9:30. More information on the library itself (including the complete library policy) can be found on its own page.

Signing up for club library access requires a club registration fee, and deposits for each tape (up to a maximum of four audio and four video tapes). Deposits carry over between school years, but registration fees are only good through the end of the Spring semester. The current fees are:

  • Fall and Spring Semester New Signup: $20
  • Spring Semester New Signup: $15
  • Fall and Spring Semester Returning Member: $15
  • Spring Semester Returning Member: $10
  • Videotape Deposit: $5 each, up to four
  • Audiotape Deposit: $2 each, up to four

Library signups take place during the library break, in the same room. Students signing up should bring a photo ID and a current UT registration fee receipt. Students leaving the university can retrieve their deposit(s), as long as it has not been left unused for over a year.

The Mailing List

The Anime Club also maintains an electronic mailing list. This mailing list does not generate huge amounts of traffic. List traffic ranges from one to as many as a dozen messages per week. If you'd like to join the list, please send mail to listproc@lists.cc.utexas.edu. Your message should have no subject, and the body should consist simply of the following two lines:

subscribe ut-anime Your Name Here
--

Naturally, replace "Your Name Here" with your real name. To unsubscribe, do the same, but use "unsubscribe" instead of "subscribe" in the body of the message. (How intuitive!) If you have problems (i.e. this doesn't work for you), you can send mail to the list owner, whose address is ut-anime-request@lists.cc.utexas.edu.
