Some listings are linked to the show's entry in the Anime Web Guide, or some other relevant web page; short-short summaries written by Rebecca Sims.
- Fushigi Yuugi TV #28-29
A quasi-magical-girls series about a young woman, Miaka, who is transported into the world of a book known as 'Four Gods' Earth and Sky'. As a foretold 'girl from another world', Miaka becomes Suzaku no Miko, a priestess-figure whose duty is to find the seven warriors of the god Suzaku, and then to summon the god. As of episode 27, all the warriors had been found, but the summoning was foiled by agents of Koutou, another country which has its own god and Miko (Miaka's best friend, Yui). Confused? Don't worry, episode 28 is a recap of the previous 27.
- Birdy the Mighty OVA 2
Birdy, an intergalactic police officer, accidentally kills a young man while she is pursuing criminals. To save his life, she has to bond with him. The two wind up sharing the same 'space', in a sense; when the personalities switch, the body changes as well. So neither is 'dominant' in terms of whose body it is. But the show is mostly about Birdy and her battles with monsters and space criminals.
- Shamanic Princess OVA 3
A young woman, Tiara, has come to Earth from the Guardian World in pursuit of her former boyfriend Kagetsu, who has stolen Yorudo's Seat, a powerful magical item from the Guardian World. Tiara's job is made more complicated by the discovery that another agent from her world, and that agent's partner, are also on Earth, apparently backing Kagetsu, who may have more altruistic motives for stealing the Seat.
- Rurouni Kenshin #13
The adventures of a wandering samurai and former assassin, now defender of the downtrodden, and his friends who of course get into lots of trouble with local bullies and gangsters so he can rescue them. And the occasional warrior who wants to challenge him.
- City Hunter TV, series 1, #3
Where it all began! Ryo Saeba is a famous gun-for-hire in Tokyo, not to mention a lech to rival Ataru Moroboshi; with his partner Hediyuki Makimura, he takes on various jobs ranging from protection to detection, cleaning up the international underground as necessary. And yes, that's Hediyuki, not Kaori...she doesn't become Ryo's partner until later.
- Gundam X #1
I don't know. -_- It's Gundam, so you can pretty much bet it'll be a bunch of mecha fighting the good fight between the Earth Federation and the Colonies, with much interpersonal drama among the mecha pilots and their commanders as millions of lives hang in the balance.
- Child's Toy TV #5
Story of an 11-year-old-girl who is a child TV star, going to a regular junior high school. Being cute and famous, she is of course the 'leader' of the girls, and as such is part of an ongoing battle with the boys in her class. Her chief opponent is Hayama Akito, the leader of the boys; however, as she finds out more about him, Sana is beginning to feel some sympathy.
All members of the university and local community are welcome to attend this presentation of the latest and greatest in Japanese animation. The showing will run until roughly midnight, so please come when you can. We look forward to having you there!
