Library Policy for the 2001 - 2002 Academic Year
This is the official library policy for the 2001 - 2002 academic year. Please read this carefully, as you are responsible for knowing and abinding by these rules. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please talk to one of the officers, or send email to anime@uts.cc.utexas.edu.

The Basics
  • You must have one deposit per tape that you check out.
  • Tapes are checked out for two weeks at a time. Weeks during which the club does not meet do not count. The major exceptions to this rule are semester breaks: Any tapes not turned back in to the library at the end of the semester will be considered lost, and the deposit forfeit. If you return the tape the following semester, you will be charged the maximum fine instead of losing your deposit. (We'd rather you give us the tape back, so the maximum fine is less than the deposit.)
  • You may check out a maximum of four (4) video tapes at one time. This also limits the number of deposits that you may have in the treasury.

Deposits
The Anime Club does not rent the tapes in its library.
  • You must have a deposit in the treasury for each tape that you check out. The deposit is just that: A deposit. It is not a "rental fee."
  • Deposit amounts are $5.00 per video tape.
  • Deposits are completely refundable, upon demand, at any time, subject to the follwing restrictions:
    1. The deposit that you want refunded must not represent a tape that you currently have checked out. In other words, if you have two deposits in the treasury, and one tape checked out, you can only request that one of your deposits be refunded. When you turn in the tape, you can request that the other deposit be refunded.
    2. If you leave your deposit inactive for one year (i.e., you do not renew your membership for a year), it becomes the property of the Anime Club.

Penalties
  • Tape box replacement is $0.75 per tape box. Tape boxes must be replaced when they are damaged. Rental store boxes (with a "cut-out") are considered damaged.
  • Tapes are considered late starting on the third week that you have them. Penalties are as follows:
    • Video tapes: $2.00 per week, up to a maximum of $4.00
  • The full amount of the tape deposit will be taken to pay for lost or broken tapes.

Remember: By signing your signup form, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
