Voices Against Violence Program

Voices Against Violence (VAV) addresses the issues of relationship violence, stalking and sexual violence at The University of Texas at Austin. Our programs are designed to serve the needs of the diverse UT population with information, education, training, advocacy, counseling and referral services.

How VAV Can Help . . .

VAV offers these helpful services for UT students dealing with issues of relationship violence, stalking and sexual assault.

  • Counseling services help women and men heal in a safe environment.
  • Advocacy program assists in navigating the various legal, medical and academic services, with appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Support groups empower survivors of relationship violence and sexual assault.

For more information about counseling and advocacy services, contact the UT Counseling & Mental Health Center at 471-3515 during business hours. For after-hours emergencies, please contact the UT Telephone Counseling & Referral Service at 471-2255 or SafePlace at 267-SAFE.

Outreach and Training presentations for organizations and departments at UT are also available. To request a presentation or training, please contact the VAV Education Specialist, Lynn Hoare.
