Conventional CL with Zeiss cooled CCD camera on Technosyn, left, color scanned CL on the right. Sample is Sonora Canyon Fm., includes a rebroken quartz-lined macrofracture. The color difference between the epoxy in the center bothers me, as it's opposite the color difference in the other samples. There are some interesting (significant) differences, the grain in the upper left is orange in conventional and dark in scanned (beam damage . The grain in the lower center that is bright magenta in conventional and bright blue in scanned CL is troubling.
